What Is Peace?

Peace is an occurrence of harmony characterized by the lack of violence, conflict behaviors and the freedom from fear of violence.

In a country like India peace is a term that most commonly refers to the absence of aggression, violence or hostility.

In fact, peace isn’t the absence of violence but rather the presence of justice.

In a society, peace happens when different desires are in one agreement.

According to me, if we think every person is good by nature and we communicate the language of love with them, then there will be no war or hatred.  Peace is the feeling that the whole world, everyone around me, my family,  my friend circle and my neighborhood is happy, eager to love, accept and relate me. I feel at peace.

Peace also means following what your heart says and sharing mutual trust and respect with people around you.

In today’s world, peace and harmony face various threats. Terrorism, regional imbalance, economic disparity and social inequality are some of the factors which threaten peace nowadays.

Everyone is engrossed in their busy lifestyles and yet want our lives to be peaceful. We expect that peace should be omnipresent. But what we need to realize is the fact that if we want peace we have to live peacefully,  love everyone,  forgive and forget.

It’s not enough to wait and assume that one day everything will change and world peace will happen, because by thinking only nothing can happen.

It is said that ‘Action Speaks Louder Than Any Word’

So firstly, we ourselves have to start changing our lifestyle. If everyone starts living the peaceful loving way, things will certainly change.

But always remember, someone has to start!

Mahatma Gandhi Ji once said:- “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”.

We can’t  just rely on anyone else to bring a change. We have to start from ourselves to make this earth better place to live.

Always remember acceptance,  compassion, and tolerance are the foundations of peace.

My Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj Once Said In His Congregations- “To bring in universal peace and brotherhood every individual must bring a change within. To bring that shift within, one must connect with Nirankar-the formless Almighty”.

He also said :- ‘Know God, Know Peace’

It means “Knowing God is Knowing Peace”.

He even says ‘Spirituality provides a roadmap to peace’.

So friends for who are we waiting for? If we want to live a peaceful life, then start changing from today itself.

Because peace is the beauty of life. It is the sunshine.  It is the smile of a child, the love of a mother, the joy of a father and the togetherness of a family.
