My teacher once told me that you should always dream big because when all your dreams come true, what else will you do with your life? Now that is a million dollar question, isn’t it?

As human beings, our minds are always filled with too many question marks. Now, it is normal because curiosity is one of the basic human instincts. What aren’t basic are the answers to our questions. We want to dream big, be big but we do not want to risk out bright futures. Our bright future definitions are quite different. We want to achieve it all but we need a desk job behind our back for support. What we do not see is that one cannot sail in two ships at once.

Imagine wanting to be an adventurer but needing a white collar job first! That is not how one achieves success. Mark Zukerberg, the founder of Facebook, took a big risk in his life. And this risk became a big leap for him in his career. He dropped out of college just to start something on his own. He thought to make his own principles and now we all can see where he stands. Not that I am suggesting to leave the college, education is important but what is more important is spontaneous leaps forward so that one gets to learn better.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his essay, “Self-Reliance” that one should never follow others. One who makes rules is always better than one who simply follows them. These are not just great words that look good in a book but these are the mere steps to a successful life.

One has to be his own shadow in order to achieve something. A thought says,

“If your dreams don’t scare you, are they even big enough?”

Are they? You ask yourself.

One can face many problems in achieving one’s dream. It can be societal pressures or parental. What is to be done is to fight for you. Achieve what you think is to be achieved. Be true to your dreams and see how they all come to your feet.

Sometimes some dreams are hard to achieve or they are a little too big. One must not feel depressed under these circumstances. If you keep working on your dream, your dream is half lived by you. All you have to keep is patience because it is the only key to fight for yourself.

In the end, never cease to forget about your dream because it is a laughing stock for someone. Remember, even Facebook wasn’t made in a day!
