Happy 71st Independence Day!

It has been 70 years since India got freedom from the British rule. Many freedom fighters like Rajguru, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Bose, Maulana Muhammad Ali, Dadabhai Naoroji, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and many more fought till their last breath to free India from the British bondage. They wanted to make India a self-reliant country.

freedom

However, they must haven’t thought that all of their struggles and sacrifices would not make India entirely an India which they dreamt of. After 70 years, we are still fighting for our rights. This time we are not fighting against any other country but with our country itself.

If we look from just outside, India has grown in terms of a number of call centers, BPO’s, Knowledge Process Outsourcing, Youth Power, and Diamond Cutting etc. Besides this, infrastructure facilities, housing schemes, and employment generation is also there.

But, if we look into depth then we would be able to look the miseries, sufferings, and struggles of the common name. Despite having 70 years of freedom, we are tied with the chains of poverty, inflation, rapes, and problem of farmer suicides, road accidents, molestation crimes, inequalities between rich and poor and many more.

freedom

The situation of this free and independent India is not improving as a whole. If we talk about infrastructure development, then highways and flyovers are being constructed but can these highways be used by those who do not have transportation vehicles?

If we talk that there are housing schemes initiated by the government then why till now people are sleeping on roads whether its summers, monsoons or winters? India exports cotton to other countries but the children here are walking in the streets nude. India is known as an agricultural state so why farmers are committing suicide here? It is noted that it’s just half of 2017 has gone and a maximum number of farmers have committed suicide till now.

Why is it that the farmers who grow grains for us do not get a meager meal? States like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh are facing this situation a lot. Why is it that farmers are forced to eat rats and drink their own urine in order to make the government listen their issues?

freedom

If we talk about employment then there are schemes like MNREGA that provides 100 days of employment to people under Below Poverty Line, what about the other 265 days. We all say slogans in the loudest of our voice ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ but why the females in this state are afraid to walk in the dark nights. Why do we hear one case of acid attack or rape in every 4 to 5 days?

freedom

We, the Indians proudly celebrate these national festivals, it is right to do so. But it is also right to raise your voice against these issues. There is a tendency that if something major incident occurs then everybody comes to do candle march and protest but where do these people go when something happens in front of them?

There are cases where we see bravery examples of how people stop the crime if it happens in front of them but these cases are rare. Everybody, whether old, young, middle aged have to make oneself strong so that our state gets stronger.

It is easy to say, the government doesn’t do anything but had we thought that what we are doing on our part. India is ours and to maintain its glory we have to take actions on ourselves. We need to free our country from these bondages. Government and general public have to walk hand in hand to again make India a ‘golden bird’.

Vande Mataram!

Happy 71st Independence Day!
